JJH: I’ve washed, shaved, and done my hair.

HAN RIVER PARK 漢江公園

JJH: Can you see it’s all frozen?

There are many fish in summer and sometimes ther are turtles.

It’s a nice place to sit and look.

 

If I sit down here and look at the river,

Well….

It feels I’m being comforted.

The river flows smoothly, and there are small waves, and it feels good.

And sometimes when I have troubles.

There are times when I run until here without thingking, and get blank while sitting down here.

And that feels good too.

 

If you walk from the end to end of Han River, you can go everywhere in Seoul.

You don’t have to go far for a walking tour.

If you want to travel Han River, you can go everywhere.

And so I come here often.

When I was young, I used to play on the frozen river.

But now the weather isn’t that cold because of greenhouse effect…

It’s such a pity.

I came here with my mom when I was young,

I came here with my cousins,and with my friend you saw.

It’s a place I come all the time.

I guess… I come here 5 times in a week if it’s not too cold.

 

There are bridges in Han River.

They all have different characteristics.

Different lights…

And because of the different characteristics, there are many people who take night scene pictures.

I don’t carry tripod with me.

I’m not interested in scenery.

I’ve never tried it yet. But I’d like to someday.

I want to take pictures of the bridge and the night scene.

HAN RIVER PARK 漢江公園

I’ve gained some weight since I couldn’t work out because of my back.

I exercised a lot at this summer, by running near Han River and not going to fitness clubs.

The place where I stay the most in a year is my house or Han River.

The total distance is about 10 km, and it’s 5km from my house to here.

I run until this place.

And it’s 5km from here to Jae Wook’s house,

And I walk from this spot.

I come there everyday, and it’s really nice.

Look around.

In Han River at Seoul, you can see right ?

They sell drinks at convenience store,

They sell liquors, food and everything .

It’s warm in winter because of the curtain.

It’s nice to eat inside.

There are a lot of benches in summer.

This snowfield is actually grass.

It’s such a nice place.

Maybe it’s place where my beads of sweat are.

I worked out a lot here.

Today the river is frozen.

The weather in Korea is cold, and the river is frozen.

Isn’t it beautiful ?

I run along this road, and stop by that store…

Sometimes I ride bicycles.

I ride bicycles, and start walking from here.

And when I’m hot, I buy beer from the store,

Sir down and drink it. Just to rest for a while.

I need to walk a little from here.

It’s a place where I can rest alone.

I can’t sit down here for a long time since it’s an outdoor.

And there are a lot of things in Han River.

There’s the swimming pool, excursion ship,

This place is far from the parking lot, and convenient facilities.

People don’t really go down this steps.

When I come here on bicycle , I leave the bike here.

And sit down.

I sit here and drink beer with my friend.

Actually I came here to introduce you this place,

But anyway this is my place.

I left my beer there.

I was planning to drink beer here,

But if you use strong flames.

The chicken gets done before the oil comes out.

And you must boil the potato longer.

But anyway , I should warm it before eating.

If I cook the potato a bit more. The tips get soft.

KJW: He speaks a lot.

He talks a lot because he’s not talkative but, well, he is sort of talkative,

but he wants to deliver his thought perfectly.

That’s impossible to deliver all the thoughts.

About how much I love you,

How nuch I think about you,

How much I hate you ,

I think delivering my feelings perfectly to other person is impossible.

He also knows it’s impossible

But maybe it is his habit. 

For example,

He can talk for 10 or 20 minutes . about how delicious this is.

To set an extreme example, I know this from working together,

it applies while talking about acting too.

Maybe that’s some passion….

An actor who doesn’t ignore that but accepts it generally

and set his own standard is a real good actor.

I’ve met him only for 1 year.

But other people think that I knew him for 10 years.

I really talk a lot of him.

When others ask where I am , I’m with Ji Hoon,

When they ask what I’m doing, I’m drinking with Ji Hoon.

 

JJH: Are you with Jihoon?

 

RDH: With Ji Hoon?

I’m speaking fast…

Where are you ?

Then I tell them I’m with Ji Hoon.

And when I tell my mom I’ll be late, she asks where will you be?

I’ll sleep over at Ji Hoon’s house.

It’s always like that.

 

JJH: Really ? You didn’t come to my house many times.

Whose house did you sleep in?

RDH: I sleep over often.

I actually don’t sleep over often.

 

JJH: It’s a joke.

 

RDH: I’ve been an actor since I was very young,

And have been the hero of movies since I was twenty.

And so people who are older than me don’t treat me like a young brother when we have a conversation.

They just think of me as “the guy who’ve been a hero in the movie”,

 

JJH: and an old actor.

 

RDH: Well, so they don’t treat me friendly.

There ware so many people who will say ‘ but still you’ve been a hero’

If I asked them for consulation.

And then, I met Ji Hoon.

There’s Uni, who was very close with Ji Hoon,

and I felt about the word ‘brother’, when I met him.

I don’t have my own brother , so I felt like he was my brother.

And Ji Hoon held out the word brother to me first.

He was someone who wanted to be my brother, and I said yes.

That was the source of trouble.

It’s a joke.

 

JJH: I act as his brother, and he pays for dinner.

It’s a deal we’ve made.

 

RDH: He’s as person who made me think that he’s such a deep person,

and someone who can make me learn what I didn’t know,

and someone who made me want to share everything I have.

There are characteristics of tall and handsome people,

but he broke that character all the time.

He made me think that he isn’t an actor who is acting without pretense.

I didn’t know what kind of person he was,

but after I got to know him, just like what I’ve said,

I thought he was a person who has more than I thought,

and I could learn what I didn’t know from him.   

He knows a lot .

Really a lot.

He knows various things.

Various doesn’t mean anything bad.

 

It’s not that he knows unnecessary things,

but knows pratical things and he tells me things that can

help me out, since he knows many things

RDH: He’s not someone how is only obedient, that’s for sure.

JJH: I’ve learned the tea ceremony in palace Woon Hyun, during drama ‘Palace”.

JJH: but I can’t drink like that with my close friends.

 

Q: Do you remember how you drink tea?

 

JJH: I can’t remember clearly. But there’s a teacup.

You hold the cup with the hand, and after that.

You shouldn’t lower your head.

You hold it up, smell it and drink it.

And when you drink tea, we don’t drink tea while it is terribly hot.

You musn’t make sounds as if you are drinking coffee.

You should cool off the tea, until it’s warm, and drink like this.

I think that men and women had to use different hands.

It’s been too long since drama ‘palace’…

 

It’s unusual, but I used to like bitter things since I was young.

Flavors you can taste when you eat ginseng in raw.

I used to eat that well since I was young,

So I guess I drank tea first.

I drink black coffee now.

Milk coffee with cream…

Black coffee wasn’t needed long time ago.

It was mostly milk coffee.

I don’t like sweet things, so I didn’t drink coffee.

 

RDW: I don’t smoke.and instead I drink 10 cups of coffee a day.

But these days, I can’t drink much because of the concert.

He really helped me a lot with caring my throat.

He used to perform,so he taught you many know-hows?

Of course , he gave me the masks he received in Japan,

And even gave me some sweets.

He introduced me medicines and the hospital he used to go.

 

Q:Sweets?

Are sweets good for throats?

 

RDW: Yes, honey sweets.

 

JJH: It’s in Japan. I have an episode from being unfamiliar with Japanese.

‘Hana’ is nose, and “Miz’ is water. Is “Hachu’ honey?

It must be similar.

I’m not sure, but the candy name was ‘Hachimich’

So I ….

I told you that my friend Kang Tae Yeol, a musical actor lived in Japan for 4years.

He has been a musical actor for long, so he taught me the know-hows.

He told me honey is good…

Ah , I’m not sure but there’s a candy named ‘Hachimich’

He said it’s good for throat,

And told me that I should eat it while practicing.

So I called my friend in Japan

And said ‘Hey, there’s the Hanamiz candy right? Buy me one’,

And he almost fainted laughing.

Hanamiz’ means snivel.

And I told him to buy me a snivel candy …

Hanamiz…isn’t it funy ? I’m sorry.

Your reaction was so awkward.

You forced the smile right?

 

RDH: No, it was fine.

He has really tried hard by making us laugh without using foul words

 

JJH: I’m not good in using foul words.

Right? I don’t use foul words that much.

But…the slangs that middle and high school kids use.

It’s funny if we adults use it, because we don’t use that often…

People like it , if I use that.

 

RDH: Joo Ji Hoon as a human, and not an actor was shown here, and today.

He’s close to nature, he always wants to be free.,

and wants to express that freedom with his body,

and he hopes that many people will share that together.

 

JJH: And you have to warm the teacup with hot water.

After warming it, throw away the water.

Pass this teacup around to these friends.

I’m not sure whether this is right, but my mother does that.

It’s because the shooting is kind of  busy now,

But she keeps warming it all the time.

I was good to see her way of treating things.

That kind heart…

You might think of me as an asshole if someone like me say this.

But since it’s ture, will just say it out.

If you think rain isn’t just rain, but THE mighty rain,

you will feel more composure. 

And think the moon as THE moon.

It’s good to think in that way.

THE sun, and THE moon is an expression that appears in fairy tales.

The f of fairy is kid ‘f’, and I don’t think , it’s necessary to share that.

 

RDH: Actually we use the word THE sun.

But why can’t we say THE moon, and THE rain?

That doesn’t make sense.

 

JJH: Duk Hwan, Jae Wook, and me, and all my other friends,

who act or don’t act think of this more seriously than me.

We are not forcing others to break those prejudices,

but we are just keeping it to ourselves.

 

RDH: but we are just keeping it to ourselves.
